Download July 2022 to June 2023 GIS Renewal Form
The new entitlement cycle for the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS) benefit begins this month. If you have filed your 2021 income tax early, your income information will automatically be shared by CRA with the Pension office. Therefore, your new 2022-2023 GIS benefit will automatically be renewed.
Note: If you have not yet filed your 2021 income tax, you will see your OAS cheque or direct deposit payment dropped significantly because of missing GIS entitlement!

July 30, 2022 3:12 pmHi,
You must call pension call centre to find out if they have received your tax information for 2021. Only when the information is received, the pension processing agent can calculated your upcoming GIS entitlement. Right now, you will only get paid for your OAS portion until GIS is calculated.

July 30, 2022 3:17 pmhello Ruth,
If you are talking about missing or reduced benefit payments under OAS, please call pension call centre to find out if they have received the 2021 tax info. Many pensioners are experiencing stopped GIS payment because of late tax filing.
