You may call pension call centre first to stop the diseased pensioner’s CPP/OAS payment. The estate can cash out the last benefit payment in the month of death. While on the phone, the call centre agent will be able to mail you the death benefit and survivor’s pension application form. The application kit will indicate the return mailing address or you may visit your local Service Canada centre to submit the application.

March 15, 2022 5:39 pmIt is now March 15, 2022 and my T4a slips for OAS and CPP have still not come from the government.
None of my friends have received theirs either.
The notice at the top of this website page says to phone 1-800-277-9914 to report that I haven’t received my slips for tax purposes, but I can’t get through on that line. I’ve tried and sat waiting for an hour an a half, but no one gets back to me.
Why isn’t anyone getting their T4a slips for OAS and CPP?

May 27, 2022 7:31 pmI’m on CPP disability benefit but I did not receive my direct deposit payment for the month of May because my joint bank account was closed by mistake. I managed to re-open the joint account but it was too late and payment was not deposited successfully as the account was still closed upon payment due date usually a few days before the end of each month. Will there be an automatic re-attempt to deposit payment or are missed payments combined with next month’s payment? If not, who can I contact by e-mail to resolve any missed payments due to a mistaken closure of my bank account?
PensionExpert
May 30, 2022 10:51 amHello Dominic,
In this case, it is best for you to contact pension call centre directly at 1-800-277-9917 to inform your situation to the call centre agent. They may be able to verify if the direct deposit was bounced back, if so, you may provide a new banking info (transit number, institution number, and account number) to the call centre agent and they will be able to resend the direct deposit.

April 20, 2023 8:13 amThis did not work for me calling from Spain so let me share my experience. The call prompts you with introducing the number that you want to call and once you start typing you get interrupted by a message saying it does not understand the number. After a few unsuccessful trials typing the number I got an operator asking me what number I wanted to dial. In my case it was the pension office number 1-613 957 1954 for OAS. The operator dialed the number and got back to me saying they only answer was a voice mail (probably the same as if you dial directly ) which says nothing about collect calls accepted.
When I asked about what the voice mail said the operator was not a able to answer me and, upon insisting, hung up on me.
I unsuccessfully tried this a few times hoping for better luck.
Very frustrating. If anybody had better luck please share your experience.

April 19, 2023 7:11 amI currently live in Spain since 1986 after living in Canada for 20 years and applied for OAS on Dec 2021.
No feedback of any kind , not even acknowledging reception or an application number.
I spoke to on-line eService Canada agents (23/01/05 and 23/02/28). Feedback was application “is in the system” and “due date” was 2023/01/06 (?) but status information can only been given by Service Canada agents handling my file. I was suggested to follow up at 1-800 613 957 1954 but I made many unsuccessful calls from Spain with hopefully short expected waiting times but none were less than 40 min and could never get through.
Following instructions on the web site I tried collect calls through 1 800 COLLECT but the service does not work and offered no help at all
I also sent a claim letter on 02/03/23 to the address where the application was sent. No answer since either.
Is this normal? Almost 16 months processing time? I am now 66 with no clue on what is going on with my application. What else can I do?

April 21, 2023 11:34 amHi Armand,
The telephone number for international pension callers remains the same. I would recommend that you call near the end of the week as they are less busy at call centre. Since there is a strike going on, the call wait time might be longer. You can find more info directly from Canada.ca website.

November 15, 2023 8:53 pmHello Donna,
The only number to call Service Canada pension office is 1-800-277-9914. This is their call centre general line where agent can assist on your file but are not the actual file decision maker. Can you request a call back from the processing office through the call centre agent.
